Hip Hop Tour Dates: Dallas Edition
The great thing about the city of Dallas Texas other than barbecue is the fact that it’s a great town for entertainment. No matter the preference, you could pretty much find something you’d be interested in. Of course, my preference tends to be the music and lots of it. The good news is that tons of artists make a stop here in the “Big D” (although I still feel very uncomfortable referring to it as such). Below is the artist list of Hip Hop tour dates scheduled to make an appearance within the next 90 days.
The Cold Summer Tour
Coming up in less than 48 hours is a performance from The Snowman himself, Jeezy. He recently released his 8th project, Pressure with guest appearances from 2 Chainz, Kodak Black & others. He’s set to hit the road alongside Tee Grizzley on Tuesday, March 20 at the House of Blues Dallas.
Radio Silence Tour
Another act that’s set to perform tomorrow, March 20 is Brooklyn veteran Talib Kweli. The album Radio Silence is the 8th studio release from the wordsmith that features the likes of Anderson Paak & BJ The Chicago Kid. There’s an album signing at Spinster Records at 5 p.m. There’s also a live performance with fellow acts NIKO IS, DJ Spintelect, Skyzoo, & Landon Wordswell at Trees Dallas. Doors open at 7:30 p.m.
Heavy Is The Crown Tour
Big K.R.I.T. has had a phenomenal year with his double disc lp 4eva Is a Mighty Long Time that was released late October. The project is his 3rd official release that features hip hop heavyweights T.I., CeeLo Green and more. So it’s only right that he keeps the energy going with his Heavy Is the Crown Tour. K.R.I.T. is set to turn The Bomb Factory up with Atlanta rapper Cyhi The Prynce. He put out a exceptional project last year No Dope on Sundays. The show starts at 7 p.m on April 13th.
Another Brooklyn native, Joey Bada$$ will make an appearance at House of Blues on Friday April 27th at 8 p.m. The young Pro Era representative is fresh off the release of his sophomore release All-Amerikkkan Bada$$ which received rave reviews. Boogie & Buddy are in the lineup as special guests for the event.
What do we have here: a spring festival? Indeed. It’s the first hip-hop festival of the year that’s scheduled to begin on Friday May 4 and conclude on Sunday May 6. There’ s a slew of different acts that will be performing: J. Cole, Migos, Cardi B, Kevin Gates, Playboi Carti, Trippie Redd, Ski Mask The Slump God, Cozz, Killy & Jack Harlow. Special guests include Texas veterans Bun B & Trae Tha Truth.
TDE Championship Tour
An appropriate title for a remarkable group. I wouldn’t be surpised if this one sold out. Top Dawg Entertainment was responsible for some of 2017’s standout albums namely Kendrick Lamar’s DAMN, SZA’s CTRL and Sir’s November. Everyone including Jay Rock, Schoolboy Q, Ab-Soul & Lance Skiiiwalker are scheduled to give a 2-day performance at Starplex Pavilion on Wednesday May 16th at 7 p.m. and Thursday May 17th at 7:30 p.m.
Great Days Ahead
All in all, there’s some pretty dope acts hitting the scene in the next few months. And it comes at the most convenient time when the weather begins to typically warm up. I’ll be doing my best to attend as many of these events as possible. Which ones are you interested in attending? Leave a comment.
